this afternoon is my friends annual Cookie Party and it is always so enjoyable. This year I made Whitewater Granola Bars...they are a recipe from Canada that my cousin Lois made but hers seemed to taste so much better than mine.

 Must be that Canadian touch! hey, I'm still a Canadian???

Girls + Christmas Cookies =

FUN!

Last night my daughter, two of my nieces, their Mom , and a friend and GIZMO (the dog),  baked and decorated sugar cookies. They went all out with shapes and colors and "laughs"...

there were Santas, flowers, horses, snowmen, holly, cowgirl boots, bunnies, even a turkey, the list goes on. 

We had Christmas music playing and just enjoyed being together and sharing in their Christmas Tradition that they have shared with their mom all these years. Laurens dog, Gizmo watched over us  with his Christmas sweater on and even had a tiny taste of frosting!

 

They are pretty YUMMY too!

My Krinkle Tree...

in my house I have lots of different trees, besides our BIG tree I have four others that I like to decorate. One year I went nuts over mini krinkles...here are a couple pictures of some of these little ornaments. They are so whimsical and have big feet and the cutest faces. Some are animals, some are shoes, instruments, chocolates and even presents. The snow globes are my daughters collection. 
 

 

My walls look so limey in these pictures and they are more of a watercress color...few more photos from around the house. Enjoy! The lighting is really bad today because we are having a whopping storm and its dark and light all at the same time.

A little Christmas decorating...

I am just starting to deck the halls with Christmas in my home. I love to decorate for the holidays! This weekend all the boxes will come down from the attic and the house will be full of  all my favorite things.

 Here is a picture of the sweetest banner I purchased from small meadow press, it hangs on a gate in my little living room. Next to it is a white feather tree with some very old ornaments passed down in my family. Hope you are in the Holiday spirit and decorating your home too. I will post more pics as the days go by...

I don't know if it was more difficult when they were  little or more comical now that they are bigger! ...

But trying to get a decent Xmas card photo of these two is a challenge, lots of laughs though! 

I think I got one that will definitely work...phew! ( and no it is not one of these)

 It twas a blustery day at the Mermaid Mercantile...but a fun one! The weather made it very Holiday-ish and we will be out there again tomorrow...forecast is for a sunny day.
